(PR) On July 8th, Maia Sharp, described as "one of America's great singer-songwriters" by producer Don Was, will kick off a summer tour in support of her upcoming album, Echo. Highlights include shows at The Living Room in New York City (July 16th) and at Los Angeles' Hotel Cafι (August 29th). Echo, Sharp's fourth full-length solo album, will be released on August 11th by Crooked Crown Records, Sharp's own label.
"John Q. Lonely," the album's lead single, was #1 Most Added in its first week at Triple A radio. It can be heard on such influential stations as Sirius/XM Loft, KPRI in San Diego and WYEP in Pittsburgh.
Recorded at Henson Studios in Hollywood, CA, Echo was produced by Don Was and features Bonnie Raitt singing background on the track "Death By Perfection." Sharp wrote three songs for Raitt's 2005 album, Souls Alike, and has frequently toured with Raitt, opening for her and sitting in with her band. Drummer Jim Keltner (George Harrison, John Lennon, Rufus Wainwright, Fiona Apple) plays on all 12 tracks.
