The Last Republic have announced their first release since winning last year's Road To V competition. The track, '(C'Mon) Flood The Gates,' will be released on July 12th 2010

The Last Republic's debut album, 'Parade', is scheduled for release on September 20th 2010. Recorded at the legendary Monnow Valley Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales, the album is currently being mixed in Los Angeles by Andrew Scheps, who is producer Rick Rubin's mix engineer. Andrew has previously worked with artists as diverse as U2, Metallica, Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson & The Mars Volta.

On June 11th, 2010, The Last Republic will perform in front of 24,000 people at London's O2 Arena, after being chosen by Kerrang! Radio as the support act for rock legends Bon Jovi. The Last Republic were chosen from over 900 bands to land this most prestigious of gigs.

The Last Republic will also be appearing at several festivals across the UK during the summer, and will announce the details for another UK tour shortly.

The Road To V competition counts The Young Knives and Bombay Bicycle Club amongst its previous winners. The Last Republic beat 3500 other bands, with over 20,000 votes in the final, to open the 2009 V Festival, performing on the Main Stage to an estimated 10,000 people on each day.

In the run up to the Road To V, The Last Republic received airplay from Radio 1 DJ's Zane Lowe ("...speaking of the future, here are a band who have a big part in it.") and Huw Stephens ("The Last Republic are making a name for themselves as purveyors of soaring epic anthems...Catchier than the clap and dressed sharper than razors, it's clear that The Last Republic have the proverbial 'bigger things' lined up squarely in their crosshairs."), were playlisted by XFM and awarded the Record of The Week accolade on Claire Sturgess' NME Radio show.

After supporting the likes of The Charlatans and Placebo, The Last Republic continued to expand their fiercely loyal fanbase with a five-week tour of the UK during Autumn 2009, before starting work on the debut album at the legendary Monnow Valley Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales.
