Larry Carlton Plays the Sound of Philadelphia is a tribute to the legendary songwriting/producing team of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, and features Carlton's versions of classics like "Back Stabbers," "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and "I'll Be Around." The Sound of Philadelphia features a host of guest musicians, as well: Paul Shaffer (organ), Tony DeSare (piano), Tommy Byrnes (rhythm guitar), Christopher Jackson (bass), Bill LaBounty (vocals), Andrea Valentini (drums), Mark Douthit (saxophone) and others. The album will be released on February 15 in both CD and CD/DVD editions.
