Duran Duran Lose Their Voice

(Gibson) Duran Duran have announced the postponement of part of their summer tour and the cancellation of some festival appearances. The BBC reports that singer Simon Le Bon hurt his voice while performing at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. He has lost the top range of his vocal range, temporarily, and doctors have ordered him to rest his vocal cords.

"This has been an extremely difficult decision to make as the injury I seem to have sustained is an internal one and so noone can tell me exactly how long it's going to take to mend completely," Le Bon said. "We feel we can't keep moving shows piecemeal as it's just not fair on the fans. I am doing everything I can to work through this and get back on track as soon as possible."

The band's upcoming European tour was set to begin on July 14 in Dublin and continue into September. Duran Duran has to cancel appearances at the iTunes Festival on July 16 and at the V Festival on August 20-21. more on this story
