(Gibson) More than 30 music acts have lined up to tip their caps to the music of The Runaways the legendary all-female punk-pop group, according to KikAxeMusic.com. The '70s band had a hit with "Cherry Bomb" and included Cherie Currie, Lita Ford and Joan Jett.

The Donnas, The Dandy Warhols, Kittie, Shonen Knife and the New York Dolls' David Johansen are among the artists who contributed to Take It or Leave It: A Tribute to the Queens of Noise: The Runaways.

The compilation also features a collaboration between Peaches, Beastie Boy Ad-Rock and his wife (and Le Tigre singer) Kathleen Hanna. The album also features tracks by former Runaways members Currie and Sandy West.
The two-CD set will be available June 7 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Institute for Cancer Research. more on this story
