(Sony) Pearl Jam Twenty DVD has debuted at number one on the TOP DVD Music Video Chart.
Pearl Jam Twenty directed by Cameron Crowe was released on October 24 and features special extras on each band member, and amazing unreleased live footage.
Pearl Jam Twenty is a Cameron Crowe film told in big themes and bold colors with blistering sound. The film chronicles the years leading up to the band's formation, the chaos that ensued soon-after being catapulted into superstardom, their step back from the spotlight with the instinct of self-preservation, and the creation of a trusted circle that would surround them—giving way to a work culture that would sustain them. The film celebrates the freedom that allows the band to make music without losing themselves, their fans, or the music lovers they'd always been.
"We put so much into the film – moments, pieces of footage shot by band members, audio snippets, visual bursts, new and old interviews – many different formats, all meant to present an emotional scrapbook of what it felt like to be a member of the band on this twenty-year journey," said Director Cameron Crowe. "The richness of the footage made our path very clear – just tell the story of the band and let the music guide us. It was a joy to make this film, and we're thrilled share it with the fans."

Pearl Jam Twenty Book
Published by Simon & Schuster in the U.S. and Canada and Atlantic Books in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, the Pearl Jam Twenty book is an aesthetically stunning, definitive chronicle of the band's past two decades. The book was compiled and written by veteran music journalist and current "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" music booker, Jonathan Cohen, with Mark Wilkerson (author of "Who Are You: The Life of Pete Townshend"), designed by Pearl Jam in-house designer Regan Hagar (also the drummer for Brad and Satchel), with a foreword and additional interviews by Cameron Crowe.
2011 is a yearlong celebration of Pearl Jam's twenty-year history. The band started off the year with the release of a new live compilation album, Live on Ten Legs, followed by the expanded reissues of Vs. and Vitalogy in March. Things kick into high gear in September with the Alpine Valley Labor Day anniversary weekend concert, followed by the release of Cameron Crowe's film, Pearl Jam Twenty, with accompanying book and soundtrack album.
