3 Doors Down Surprise Military Family
. The band had selected military wife Amber Raymond to draw the raffle at their 8th Annual The Better Life Foundation event at the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, Mississippi. The real prize came when her husband, Sgt. Edward Raymond, who has been stationed in Iraq, showed up to surprise Amber and their children. The Mississippi Army National Guard and 3 Doors Down's The Better Life Foundation have been secretly working on this top secret surprise for over five months. It was also a special homecoming for 1SGT David Spencer, just home from a year in Iraq as well, who won the Citizen Soldier III motorcycle last year. This year's event, sponsored by the Mississippi Army National Guard and Paul Benton, hosted an array of activities including a charity motorcycle ride with over 300 riders, a silent auction, a raffle for the Citizen Soldier IV motorcycle valued at $73,000, and live performances by 3 Doors Down, Seether, and One Less Reason. The Better Life Foundation also made donations to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and Mississippi Emergency Relief Fund.
