White Wizzard Explain New Album Title
. The band's bassist and mainman Jon Leon recently took some time to speak to Classic Rock magazine about the meaning behind Flying Tigers, a tribute to a legendary World War II fighter squadron. Jon Leon said, "When I wrote the music and lyrics for this song, it just seemed so visual that it lent itself to being the album title. The Flying Tigers was the name given to the First American Volunteer Group of the Chinese Air Force, and they took on the Japanese, who had far superior aircraft, with incredible success. Their kill to death ratio was amazing." See White Wizzard live with touring vocalist Michael Gremio at the following shows: White Wizzard W/ Firewind, Arsis, Nightrage
