Chris Daughtry Vs Former Band (A Top Story)
. Prior to becoming a finalist on American Idol and launching his multi-platinum band Daughtry, Chris Daughtry was in a band called Absent Element with bass player Ryan Andrews, drummer Scott Crawford, and guitarist Mark Perry. The three have now filed suit in North Carolina seeking royalties for songs they say they had a hand in writing with Chris Daughtry. Apart from "Home," Daughtry's formerband mates are seeking royalties for the songs "Breakdown," "Conviction," and "Sinking." The Charlotte Observer reports that the lawsuit states "All four members wrote music and lyrics for Absent Element's songs, collaborated on the arrangement and recording of those songs, regularly consulted with each other on matters relating to the business of the band, and made partnership decisions based on majority votes." - more on this story
