Simmonds Details Savoy Brown's Delta Album
It's described as "a musical road trip through Simmonds' spiritual homeland." The frontman explains: "When I started the band in 1965 the concept was to be a British version of a Chicago blues band. Now the music on this recording echoes the blues sounds of Chicago."
He says that, no matter where Savoy Brown went in terms of musical direction, they always remained close to their blues roots. "Now we've come full circle," he states. "The songs and playing on this album are straightforward in focus and as basic as blues should be." more on this story
