Judge Slashes Axl Rose's Guitar Hero Lawsuit (Top 12 of Aug 2012)
. Rose claims that the game's maker Activision Blizzard Inc. told him during negotiations for use of the song that the game would not contain any reference to his former bandmate Slash. The game was released with Slash as an active avatar and featured him on the cover and also included music from Slash's post GNR band Velvet Revolver. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rose claims that Activision "fraudulently induced him" into agreeing to feature "Welcome to the Jungle" in the game. At a hearing on Tuesday in Los Angeles the judge indicated that Rose's fraud claim was going to be tossed out but his claim of breach-of-contract could go forward, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
