Mariah Carey Announces New Album's Release Date

06/06/2013
.
Island Def Jam have set a July 23rd release date for Mariah Carey's new studio album and the former American Idol judge will soon be announcing a world tour to support the effort.

Carey broke the new album news to her fans via Twitter by posting, "The New Era Begins.. 7/23 #MC723" as the album's first single, "#Beautiful" featuring Miguel hits No. 17 on today's Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

While Carey is stepping away as a judge on American Idol after the show suffered a dramatic drop in ratings this past season, fans will be able to see the singer on the small screen on July 4th.

Carey will be celebrating Independence Day by performing on the "Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular" which will be broadcast on the NBC network.

Billboard also reports that Carey will be supporting the new album with a world tour that will kick off on October. Dates have yet to be announced. You can read the Billboard report here.
