(Radio.com) Long before he was winning GRAMMY awards and collaborating with Jay-Z and Kanye under the moniker Bon Iver, Justin Vernon was making music with fellow Wisconsin indie rockers Collections of Colonies of Bees under the name Volcano Choir.

Now after being on hiatus since their 2009 debut, Unmap, the experimental pop band has announced a new album set for a September release titled Repave. The first single, "Byegone," was unveiled today (June 17).

For those who are fans of Bon Iver's quiet and haunting songs, Volcano Choir's music will be right up your alley but with a much richer and louder sound. The music from 2009′s Unmap showcased Vernon's unique vocal delivery juxtaposed with lush and textured post-rock a la Band of Horses and Gayngs.

Based on "Byegone," Vernon and his friends in Bees have not skipped a beat in their four year absence. Repave is scheduled to hit stores on September 3 via Jagjaguwar. Listen to the new song here
