George Jones Star-Studded Final Concert To Go Forward As Tribute Show
. Jones was in the midst of his farewell tour when he was hospitalized and passed away soon after. The tour was scheduled to end with a huge celebration concert at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on November 22nd that was to feature a who's who of country music as special guests. Now Jones family has announced that the sold-out show will still be taking place, but now it will become the official "Tribute to George Jones." "Everyone has been asking if we will still do the show," says Nancy Jones. "I have asked Garth, Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, The Oak Ridge Boys, Montgomery Gentry, Sam Moore, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson and others and they all said 'yes, I am still going to do it' so with all the artists still planning on coming, we are going to honor George one final time." The original show was set to include guest appearances from Barbara Mandrell, Garth Brooks, Kid Rock, Kenny Rogers, Randy Travis, Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, T. Graham Brown, Mark Chesnutt, Charlie Daniels, Joe Diffie, Jamey Johnson, Tracy Lawrence, Patty Loveless, Shelby Lynne, Kathy Mattea, Montgomery Gentry, Sam Moore, Lorrie Morgan, The Oak Ridge Boys, Pam Tillis, Randy Travis, Tanya Tucker, Josh Turner, Cyndi Lauper, Don McLean, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Gene Watson. As well as, Clay Walker, Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye, Larry Gatlin, Crystal Gayle, The Kentucky HeadHunters, Jett Williams, Jeanne Pruett, Lisa Matassa, The Whites, Ricky Skaggs, Mandy Barnett, Mark Collie, Ronnie McDowell, Baillie & the Boys, Daryle Singletary, Brenda Lee, John Conlee, Lee Greenwood, Eddy Raven, The Roys, Janie Fricke, T.G. Sheppard, Dailey & Vincent, Gary Morris, Jessi Colter, Bobby Bare, Jim Ed Brown, Little Jimmy Dickens, Stonewall Jackson. Lorianne Crook & Charlie Chase, Ralph Emery, Bill Cody, Larry Black, Rick Marino & Lisa Manning, Bill Mack, and Keith Bilbrey were set to be the event's celebrity emcees. The final list of confirmed talent for the tribute concert will soon be announced on Jones official website.
