Rush's Alex Lifeson Painting Fetches High Price At Auction

(hennemusic) A self-portrait painting by Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson has raised approximately $8,000 (Cdn) for The Kidney Foundation Of Canada during the organization's annual A Brush Of Hope charity auction.

Works by Lifeson and other celebrities were up for bids to support the Foundation, which helps Canadians suffering from kidney failure and related disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, urinary tract infections and kidney stones.

"A little over [ten] years ago, my father passed away after two very difficult years of failing health," Alex explained. "Both his kidneys ceased to operate and he was on dialysis for over two years. Many times, he was nearly lost during his dialysis and it was heartbreaking to watch his demise, and that's why this is especially important to me." more on this story
