Muse and Green Day Not Good Enough for Radio Station

(TeamRock Radio) A BBC Radio 1 music boss has said Muse and Green Day aren't good enough to be broadcast on the station. Despite notching up a string of hit singles, neither band were given airplay for their recent material and that looks set to continue.

Music policy director Nigel Harding tells MusicWeek: "This is all about the age of the artist's primary audience. The last Green Day project simply wasn't good enough.

"Muse are approaching a crossroads. Their last single was the first one not playlisted by Radio 1 in a decade. The door remains open to them but we'll have to think carefully about their next album." more on this story
