(Radio.com) In the follow-up to "Royals" (now at No. 3 on the Hot 100), Lorde is speaking up for the underdog. "Team," off her upcoming debut Pure Heroine (out September 30), starts off with Lorde singing a little a cappella before breaking into a clap-happy dance track.

On the feel-good song, Lorde sweetly sings, "We live in cities, you'll never see onscreen/Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things." Reassuring all those out there, "We're on each other's team."

She also gets a little sassy, singing: "I'm kind of over getting told to throw my hands up in the air/ So there." Yeah, take that.

The song is about growing up, which as Lorde told Radio.com, is a running theme on her first album. "Everything on the EP was written when I was 15," she said. "So much has happened in my life since then, and I really want the album to reflect those changes and experiences." Listen here.
