Josh Homme Says Jay-Z Is A Kook

(Radio.com) Take notes, prospective festival promoters: Queens of the Stone Age aren't about your extravagant gifts or questionable security procedures. The Josh Homme-led band played the Made in America festival, a Jay Z-helmed affair, a few weeks ago in Philadelphia. During an interview with CBC Radio 2 at the concert, Homme sounded off on how he felt about the festival itself and it's not pretty.

"That guy's a kook, you know," Homme said. "He has his security frisking the bands on the way in." Though such security measures might be thought of as fairly standard for the average concertgoer, Homme didn't take too kindly to he and his band getting the treatment, threatening to not play the fest when security asked to look in his bag. "No one's ever done that," he said. "You shouldn't frisk my guys. You should f*** off."

That's not all. Apparently the rapper gave each performer a bottle of his own champagne, with one caveat: the band must take a picture with the bottle. "That's not a gift that's a marketing tool," Homme said. "I destroyed it, 'cause I thought it was rude overall."

A thumping noise is later heard in the interview, which Homme chalks up to him "breaking Jay Z's gifts. People never say anything about Jay Z, do they?" Check out the full interview here.
