Allman Brothers Band 40th Anniversary Show Coming To DVD

The Allman Brothers Band have announced the release of a new DVD that features their 2009 40th anniversary show at the Beacon Theatre where they played their first two albums in their entirety.

EOne Entertainment announced on Wednesday that they will be releasing the DVD, entitled 40, on April 30th as a single disc DVD that will run for 155 minutes, according to Amazon.

40 features the current lineup of the band, Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks, Jaimoe, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Oteil Burbridge and Marc Quinones, along with over 60 special guests paying tribute to the original band lineup Duane Allman, Dickey Betts and Berry Oakley (plus Gregg, Butch and Jaimoe) by performing the group's iconic debut and sophomore albums, The Allman Brothers Band and Idlewild South back to back. Fans can also catch the band live as they resume their live activity this weekend at the Wanee Music Festival in Live Oak, FL. They will also be appearing at Mountain Jam in Huunter Mountain, NY in early June and in August they will be hosting their annual Peach Music Festival in Scranton, PA and in early September they will take part in the Lockn' Music Festival in Arrington, Va.
