Ralph Stanley Recruits Robert Plant, Elvis Costello, More For Album
. Slated for Jan. 15 release, Ralph Stanley & Friends: Man of Constant Sorrow will feature bluegrass pioneer Stanley performing duets with Dierks Bentley, Elvis Costello, Del McCoury, Buddy Miller & Jim Lauderdale, Old Crow Medicine Show, Robert Plant, Ricky Skaggs, Nathan Stanley, Josh Turner, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings and Lee Ann Womack. The 13-track CD also includes two songs, "Hills of Home" and "Man of Constant Sorrow," performed by Stanley alone. These and other songs on the album were classics from his days as part of the legendary Stanley Brothers, one of the earliest bluegrass groups, whose recordings date back to the 1940s. 'I have always enjoyed performing with other musicians ever since my older brother Carter and I first started playing music together when we were kids," said Stanley, referring to his late brother, with whom he formed the Stanley Brothers in 1946. 'I am excited to share these collaborations with such wonderful artists with our fans." Read more here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
