(Radio.com) For Sara Bareilles' appearance on Ellen earlier this week (Jan. 7), the singer brought everything, but the kitchen sink. Bareilles hit the daytime talk show stage to perform her empowerment anthem, "Brave," off her GRAMMY nominated album, The Blessed Unrest, with a guitarist, keyboardist, bassist, two cellists and a percussionist on the drum machine.

The singer herself took a spot behind the piano, spending all four minutes of the performance standing up to lead the crowd in a sing-along. With its uplifting chorus of "Say what you wanna say/And let the words fall out/Honestly I wanna see you be brave".

"The messaging of the song felt anthemic to me personally," Bareilles said of the song. "But I didn't really realize that it was going to connect in the way that it did, and it's really amazing to watch this song sort of take on a life of its own."
