Venue Boss Prayed Cobain Had Been Murdered

(Classic Rock) London venue owner claims he made up a story about Nirvana tickets being collectable after the death of Kurt Cobain, in order to avoid making a �250,000 loss over cancelled shows.

And he admits he found himself praying that the grunge icon had been murdered rather than committed suicide, so his investment would be protected by his insurance.

Simon Parkes had booked Nirvana to appear for four nights at Brixton Academy. He'd also organised a festival called In Bloom, which was to be headlined by the band.

But he faced disaster when Cobain's death was announced on April 8, 1994 � and now he's told how he thought on his feet in order to avoid making a massive loss. more on this story
