Conor Oberst Was Not Dropped Over Rape Allegations

(Radio.com) Conor Oberst has been fighting sexual abuse allegations after a 16-year-old girl accused him of assaulting her in 2003 after a Bright Eyes concert. A new report from TMZ claims the Bright Eyes frontman has been dropped by his label Nonesuch Records as a result of the fallout to these allegations.

Radio.com reached out to Oberst's publicist, who refuted these claims. "He has not been dropped by Nonesuch. We're contacting TMZ to correct." The contract in question was purportedly worth $200,000, though Oberst's publicist did not address this claim when emailed.

According to Rolling Stone, Oberst filed a libel lawsuit over the rape allegations back in February. In the suit, he claims his accuser has a "history of inventing stories and personalities online in order to gain attention." more on this story
