Marcus Mumford Working On Hip-Hop Project

(Radio.com) First Marcus Mumford drops the banjo, now he's going hip-hop? In the latest issue of NME, the Mumford and Sons frontman reveals he's working on a project with Kanye West's producer 88 Keys.

Mumford said the producer, who worked on 'Ye and Jay Z's Watch the Throne, is helping him learn to "chop up beats." "That's really fun for me," he told the mag.

Though some may think this musical change comes out of nowhere, Mumford explains he's always had a love for hip-hop. And clearly respects the genre, since he recently told Billboard that Kanye was the "only rock star left."

"I went to that Kanye gig in London recently, and I grew up listening to Jurassic 5 and Nas," Mumford told the mag. Read more here.
