Kendrick Lamar Breaks His Own Spotify Record With 'To Pimp a Butterfly'


. (Radio.com) On Tuesday (March 17), we reported that Kendrick Lamar had broken Drake's single day stream record, with 9.6 million Spotify streams of his new album, To Pimp a Butterfly, on its first day of availability.

Well, as they say, records are made to be broken, and Lamar's record only lasted a single day. On Tuesday, Kendrick Lamar's follow-up to his beloved Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City broke its own record, racking up 9.8 million listens in its second day on the streaming service.

Whether this is the peak number remains to be seen. Sometimes albums need a bit of word of mouth for people to even be aware that they are available to be streamed, and maybe that word on Lamar's record is still spreading. Read more here.
