One Direction To Pay 'Weed Bond' Before Playing In The Philippines
. (Radio.com) Lesson to One Direction: drugs are bad, don't do drugs. And, specifically, if you do in the Philippines, you'll have to pay up. According to the Guardian, the Philippines Bureau of Immigration are requesting that 1D's Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson post bonds of roughly $5,000 before they play Manila this weekend. The request stems from a video that was released last year which shows Malik and Tomlinson allegedly smoking pot in Peru. That clip led the ant-drug organization, Laban ng Pamilyang Pilipino,to rally behind the cause, "No drug test, no entry!" And now it seems the government heard their pleas--despite others remarking that the group done good work in the country before, specifically raising money after the Haiyan/Yolanda typhoon hit. The Bureau states that the bond is 'intended to protect the public interest should the band members commit any violation during their stay in the Philippines," March 21 through 22. Read more here.
