Such is the case with "Dr. Pepper," an unexpected collaboration between all four artists, premiered last week (May 22) via The Fader. Prepped for K-Pop star CL's debut English language album, the song is straight swagger with an irresistibly bubbling beat.
"Put it on ice, b--, Dr. Pepper," CL snarls, fresh out the gates. "Chillin' in the freezer when I'm under pressure." There's only a handful of words in the chorus and that's all that's necessary.
The track not surprisingly comes from a place of aggression. CL recorded it after Diplo blew off one of their recording sessions. 'Diplo canceled a session on me, and I was so mad at him. I was drinking a can of Dr. Pepper and wrote the song so I could go home as soon as possible," CL told The FADER, who premiered the track. 'Diplo ended up loving it!" Check it out - here.
