Bette Midler Joining Team Shelton On 'The Voice'
.
(Radio.com) Blake Shelton hoped to drop a big announcement last week, but apparently fans had already gotten wind that Bette Midler would be serving as Team Shelton's mentor for the upcoming season of The Voice. On Friday (July 29) he shared a publicity photo from the set with Midler. When he tweeted the news, Shelton admitted he wanted to have a photograph to add a little "oomph" but he didn't have one at the time. Instead, he offered up his excitement by borrowing from one of her hits. "She is the wind beneath my wings," he tweeted. He followed up with fans today, though, by posting a picture of the two sitting side-by-side. Midler told Extra about partnering with Shelton, "I thought, 'He's really cute, he's really funny, he has a tremendous amount of personal charm, and I would like to be in his orbit, so why not?' and he writesI'm a fan of his music." On Twitter, she praised the team they had together. "Yes it's true. I am a mentor for #teamblake on @NBCTheVoice. I had a great time and we had a hell of a team. Airs in October," she wrote.
