Megadeth wants to connect directly with fans on their upcoming tour. As side from playing more intimate venues the band is allowing fans to choose the set list for shows. Fans will be able to log onto the official Megadeth website and choose the songs that will be performed at each show.
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine explains, We evaluated our current position and relationship with American radio and our most loyal fans. We also wanted to continue our long-standing record of innovation and 'firsts' with the Internet and the online community. So we decided to permit the local stations to feature a link to our site, which would allow their users and listeners to join fans already familiar with www.megadeth.com and participate in choosing which songs we will be performing in their city. We will provide a list of 30 or more songs for the fans to choose from. Each show will consist of 24 songs and will be fully interactive with the fans, listeners and online community.
Megadeth is touring in support of latest album The World Needs A Hero, the first release for the band under their new label Sanctuary Music. The album debuted at no. 16 on the Billboard album charts when it was released last May.
Miami rapcore group Endo will be opening for Megadeth on this trek supporting their Columbia/DV8 debut Evolve.
