Quickies: Ozzfest, Halford, Axl Rose, and more

First
off we have an Ozzfest 2001 update for you. In the confirmed department
Disturbed has been confirmed as the second stage headliner. In the unconfirmed
department, there are rumblings that the second stage will also feature
Boyhitscar and The Union Underground. As always we will keep you posted
on the latest Ozzfest developments.
Good news for our European friends
Ozzfest
is coming your way this year. The following was posted on the official
Ozzfest website:
Its official: The Ozzfest 2001 is coming
to the U.K. Think 98, not 99, okay? Think Black Sabbath (72, not 89,
right!); think Slipknot, Tool, Papa Roach, Disturbed, Mudvayne, Amen, Black
Label Society, (hed)p.e., Union Underground, Apartment 26, and Raging Speedhorn.
Think Milton Keynes Bowl, which can pack in a sum total of 50,000. Think
about itthe show to end all shows coming to Great Britain May 26!!
Ticket on-sale information (and other announcements)
will be posted as soon as it is made available.
No other shows are planned at this time
in the European Union.
According
to Metal Edge Karen McNeil the women who was convicted of stalking Axl
Rose after she violated a restraining order, will be sentenced for violating
her probation on March 1st. She was charged with the violation after she
left an Ohio mental hospital last December without permission.
In other Axl news: Axl Rose has told journalist
in South America that the new Guns N Roses album, Chinese Democracy
will be released in June with the first single hitting the radio airwaves
in early spring.
Halford
fans mark your calendars for April 17th because that is the day the new
live Halford album Live Insurrection will be in stores through Metal-Is
records. Three new studio tracks will be included along with the live tracks
recorded last year during Halford's headlining tour and their supporting
spot on the Iron Maiden Brave New World Tour.
Rob
Halfords former band Judas Priest will embark on a European tour this
summer.
