Upon hearing David Aaron's Patchwork, I couldn't help but feel worn out. Much of his music seems to have some semblance of sincerity, but the creative spark flickers briefly in only a few spots. The music itself sounds like a tired routine that leaves no real aftertaste to satisfy. A poor imitation of a million or so previous alternative singer-songwriter artists that came out of the 90's. On the hard-rock tracks, the production places the instrumental dredge over the vocals far too much. The lyrics are just often just pitiful. When they're not overbearingly cliche, the approach the sort of beginner's poetry that you teach to elementary school kids in order to demonstrate form to them in a way that is easily and readily understood by them by removing all the pizzazz out of the words. And it's judgeS, not judgeRS. Overall, the lack of originality, lack of diverse influences, production skills, and vocabulary really make this a poor effort.
