B.O.C. is one of the bands that just doesn’t
give up and that’s a good thing judging by their latest studio offering
“Curse Of The Hidden Mirror”. When the band released “Heaven Forbid” in
1998 it was apparent that the magic that had propelled B.O.C. to international
fame had withstood the test of time. Now they return with another album
that just goes to show you why this band has endeared themselves to fans
around the world for three decades.
The disc opens strong with “Dance On Stilts”
a song in the classic B.O.C. tradition. But they seem to stumble with the
second track, “Showtime” which comes across as a filler tune. They can’t
all be hits and despite a couple of clunkers on here like “Showtime” they
more than makeup for it with tracks like “Dance on Stilts”, “Pocket” and
“Here Comes That Feeling”. All in all, this is a great collection
of new songs from this legendary group.
Posted by Rob (I like real metal):
It's a good album. a 3.5 stars out of 5 for most rock, in comparison to other BOC albums, it's 2.5.
It's more cohesive than the last release "Heaven Forbid", but I think Forbid's best outrank Curse's. And the Bouchard Brothers are not currently in the band, but I think Bobby Rondinelli, who played for Black Sabbath, Rainbow and Ozzy, is a very worthy drummer and a better drummer today than Albert is. Most importantly, Buck Dharma is still a really smokin' guitar picker. If you don't have Heaven Forbid or the remaster of Secret Treaties, I'd get those first. But then, go ahead and buy this one.

Of Darkness: I love KISS, but they died after 1977.
BOC is and has always been better musically than KISS could ever dream
to be. Long live BOC! How many bands that have been around for 30 years
can still put out great albums? Maybe their best? Not many at all.

gpt: an almost great effort by one of the most
underrated and best rockers ever-BOC is propelled to greatness by Buckdharma's
guitar and unique, diversified style-Blooms vocals are the obvious weak
point

Don: One of their greatest of all times. Being
a fan for 30 years with over 100 BOC showes under my belt, I can tell you
this cd is a must!
