Simply put, this CD is going to upset most
fans who are geeked about the new Faster Pussycat reunion. First off, it's
all techno remixes. Second, Taime is the only original member to participate
on this CD. And although Taime is the one who oversaw the project, even
Newlydeads fans will probably scratch their heads when listening to this.
This isn't the dark version of Faster Pussycat that I was looking forward
to, but a kind of silly pop-techno dance CD. If you're a traditional hard
rock fan who's into FP, the only worthwhile song on this CD is the unreleased
demo "Blood," which is actually a pretty good song that reminds me of Whipped's
"Only Way Out" as well as "Showdown (Riot On Sunset)" from LA Guns' "Cocked
and Loaded."
Being perfectly honest, I found it a little
fun to listen to the goofy versions of these songs, and a couple of these
remixes DID grow on me. Some of the beats and riffs are a little on the
catchy side. However, I can't honestly recommend this CD to Faster Pussycat
fans or even Newlydead fans.
This comes off more like a disc they threw
out to cash in on the reunion tour. This one's strictly for the diehards
or the ones that like the techno remixes at the end of most of Cleopatra/Deadline's
"Latest & Greatest" discs.
