The Essential Billy Joel is basically a
repackaging of his Greatest Hit’s Vol 1-3. While this CD features a good
cross section of Billy’s entire career including his new Classical Music
compositions some of his signature songs are absent, namely “Pressure”
and “The Stranger”. But this collection includes some tracks left out of
the previous greatest hits compilations like “Honesty” and “You’re My Home”.
Overall, it’s a great collection of songs from Bill Joel, although to get
a true “Essential Billy Joel” compilation you would need to issue a boxset
containing all of his studio albums.
