MC5 DVD
press release reports: Music Video Distributors and Book Beat are pleased to announce the home viewing release of the MC5 - Kick Out the Jams for worldwide distribution on DVD July 12th.

Conceptual artist and Destroy All Monsters co-founder Cary Loren has assembled rare film of the band shot by Leni Sinclair into a swirling psychedelic art piece. This film features much never-before-seen footage of the MC5 during the peak of the band's creativity, with audio performances selected to complement the visuals. The result is an exploding kaleidoscopic mind-trip filled with sparkling surrealism that cuts to the heart of the musical-mystical-political-chemical nexus of the MC5 experience (which Norma Mailer referred to as the "electro-mechanical climax of the age").- Click Here for the Full Story

Motley DVD Bomb
BW&BK reports: You'll thank modern technology for the overdubs.

When MOTLEY CRUE's much-hyped live DVD - filmed Wednesday night in Van Andel Arena in front of a near-capacity crowd of more than 10,000 - hits the store shelves, don't be surprised if Vince Neil's voice sounds, you know, surgically modified.

Kind of like his face was recently.

The dirtball-rockers' inexplicably popular reunion tour has been, and will be, packing hockey barns all year. Too bad Neil has been subjecting rabid audiences to his half-hearted, watery warble.

He doesn't just skip words when he sings, he skips consonants, choosing to sing mostly vowels. Who knew Bob Dylan has been giving him enunciation lessons? [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
