This wasn't the easiest decision to make, but in the end, we agree that ENFORSAKEN has now run it's course. We've accomplished everything that we set out to do, and now it's time to move on. Silly News: Exodus Vs Emo
Blabbermouth reports: Ellen Gager of Midwest Excess recently conducted an interview with EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt. A few excerpts from the chat follow:

Midwest Excess: ..how do you feel about today's current music scene?

Gary: "I think it's really good. I mean, it's better in the United States than it used to be, but it still struggles, you know? Europe and Japan and other points around the globe still remain our bread and butter. It's getting better. The whole nu-metal thing died and I was so glad about that, but now we have all these emo kids who weigh like 105 pounds and wear girls' pants that won't even stay on there, 'cuz they have no ass to hold their pants up, they left their ass in the other pants. And they got their hair covering half their face, and the crooked hat, and I'm starting to miss nu-metal, to tell ya the truth. I mean, they have taken all the testosterone out of heavy metal, these guys. Stop whining and crying... Emo. The only emotion that's supposed to be in this music is anger and rage, not sissy complaints. I just don't get it. I look at those kinds and I'm like, 'Lift some weights, eat a hamburger, go do something.'"[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Cactus V
PR reports: Escapi Music, home to Dirty Rig, Dissection, Dragonlord, Speed Hate Kill, Body Count, Tokyo Dragons, The Dictators, Warrior Soul and Trouble, announces the July 18th release of V by classic electric blues-rockers Cactus.

Original members Carmine Appice (drums), Jim McCarty (guitar) and Tim Bogert (bass) are now fronted by former Savoy Brown singer Jimmy Kunes (Rusty Day died in 1982). The music of Cactus on V is rife with blues riffs, soulful melodic invention, kick-ass ax soloing and the kind of rhythm section interplay only bass/drum tandems that have decades-long mental telepathy can ever hope to achieve. Appice and Bogert have recorded and performed together in Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Beck/Bogert/Appice and numerous other high-profile projects.- Click Here for the Full Story

Lonn's Tale
PR reports: A Backstage Journey Through Rock's Most Debauched Decade. Part oral history, part candid and humorous memoir, Life on Planet Rock is an intimate, bittersweet look into the backstage world of the music scene during one of its most prolific, profligate, and prosperous times through the eyes of music journalist and former RIP Magazine editor Lonn Friend. Morgan Road Books will release this book on July 11, 2006. Below is part of the reason it caught our attention here at the antiMusic.

In 1994, Friend was wooed by music industry titan Clive Davis to join Arista as an A&R executive with a mandate to develop the label's roster of rock acts. He soon discovered, however, that his idealistic outlook on music flew in the face of how things got done on the inside, and, after three spirit-sapping years during which virtually every band he pitched-including Limp Bizkit and Eels-was rejected, his association with Arista came to a merciful end. "Clive's inflated sense of entitlement was representative of everything I'd come to despise about the record business," he writes. "Ego, power, greed-Babylon's holy trinity. Thanks, but no thanks. . . . Ultimately, I was not a record-company creature. I was a journalist, a music fan, who paid little mind to the industry's protocol or politics. I understood artists from an authentic place. I knew how to talk to them, on their level, without the invisible wall defined by the institution and suit. Hell, I didn't even own a suit." [Amen Lonn! Limp Bizkit is understandable but the Eels? You would think Durst had enough schmaltz for Clive. Ok, enough of our comments-- click the full story to learn a lot more about this book!]

Post Hotwire
Submitted News reports: Skyscraper Frontier which features ex-singer of Hotwire/Eyelid is releasing a new EP July 4th on Coming Home Records (cominghomerecords.com) and it will show a whole new style of music then he has done in the past. You can sample the music at the full story link.

Three years ago gave launch to the birth of inspiration for the current soothe-rock ensemble. Soaking in that certain bucket was the sponge that squeezed in October of 2004, spawning over twenty song ideas. For the next five months fourteen songs were finalized and the other six still in skeletal form. Therefore giving the composer's a chance to pick out the best of seven songs, re-record them, than release an EP on independent label Coming Home Records, rightfully titled Moonlit Behavior. Focusing on making every song unique means everything and always will, no song will ever go halfway through the writing process.
