Weiland Slashed By Former GNR Manager
Day in Rock reports: Metal Sludge has posted a rather interesting statement that reportedly came from Guns N' Roses former manager Alan Niven. Here is an excerpt but you'll have to click the full story to read it all.

"Categorically, Slash is utterly accurate - Mr. Weilland is, in my personal opinion, a clueless posturing fraud, of no particular or obvious abilities, including, and most apparently, composition. The band is a thorough waste of a truly great guitar player and terrific rhythm section. [their output has been entirely forgettable and one dimensional].

"As for Mr. Rose, I have no doubt he is still genuinely and profoundly gifted, and it is self evident that he has provided more insight and memorability in a single line of composition than Mr. Weilland has managed in an entire career.

"For the record, Mr. Rose wrote the majority of the melodies and lyrics on the guns records, which include the best selling rock debut of our times, with 16,000,000 sold in the United States alone."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Borland Vs Durst
Day in Rock reports: Wes Borland posted a Myspace Blog in responce to Fred Durst's "free style" song posting that took aim at Wes and he's recent comments that the Bizkit might be over. Here is part of what Wes had to say.

I am actually going to respond to you guys AND Fred. Here it goes:

It is a shame to have things once again come to head because of lack of communication between two people. Was I right to speak for everybody in Limp? Probably not. But I thought the fans deserved to know what was going on at least from my perspective. After years and years of dealing with each other, it seems that Fred and I still have not figured out how to keep it positive. I'm to blame, he's to blame. It sucks. We never talk. So, it's hard to ever know what's really going on. I still stand behind everything I've said. LB doing something is as much news to me as it is to everybody else. If Fred is making music, that's great, more power to him, but I wasn't aware. So, here we are now.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Vandals to Rock Afghanistan
Fanscape reports: Orange County punk rock legends the Vandals will once again take their act to the theater of war next month as they head to Southern Asia to play for the armed forces troops deployed in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The Vandals, who first made the trek to the region Christmas 2004/2005 playing for troops in forward operating bases in Iraq and Kuwait, will play 4 to 6 shows in the Afghan region during their 10 day trip beginning April 5, 2006 on a tour arranged by military entertainment contractors AKA Productions.

Singer Dave Quackenbush said, "The most frequently asked question we get when we tell people we are going to Iraq or Afghanistan is, 'are you going to play for the troops?' The insurgents aren't really interested in us, truthfully. And the only musical activity permitted by the Taliban is the singing of certain types of religious songs, and Taliban chants. Stone Sour Diversify Even More
Day in Rock reports: In his latest MorleyView, Morley caught up with Stone Sour's Josh Rand while the band is in the studio recording their new album. Josh tells Morley a bit about the new CD and the direction it is taking in the following excerpt.

antiMUSIC: So bring us up to date on how the record is going.

Josh Rand: Right now we're in Los Angeles doing the follow-up, obviously. We've brought in Nick Raskulinecz to help produce this and help steer the ship. We've wrapped up drums and are working on guitar now. We're going to track 18 songs. Probably only 12-13 will be on the record. That's yet to be decided. They're very diverse. If you like the first record, and certainly mainly people comment on the diversity of that one.this one will be far and beyond that one. There's some really heavy stuff. There's some really melodic stuff and a new direction we've yet to go until now. It's going to be cool. I'm really excited about it.
