sleazeroxx.com reports: An art broker has filed a lawsuit against Axl Rose, claiming the rocker backed out of a deal to pay $2.36 million for an Andy Warhol portrait of John Lennon.

Acquire d'Arte, in a lawsuit filed Sept. 11 in Los Angeles Superior Court, said it negotiated with a New York art gallery and was able to lower the price of the artwork from $2.65 million to $2.36 million for Rose.

But after agreeing to buy the portrait, the Guns N' Roses frontman paid only $1.21 million, according to the suit. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Coldplay Snubs Timberlake
Gigwise reports: Coldplay's Chris Martin turned down the chance to collaborate with Justin Timberlake, telling him he only sang on his band's records.

In a TV interview this week Timberlake intimated he made an approach to the singer, only to be rebuffed with the news that Martin only had eyes, or rather vocal chords, for Coldplay.

The pop star told Channel Four's T4, "I'd like to get Chris Martin in the studio but he won't sing on anything but Coldplay stuff. I respect him and I hate him for that." [see full story to learn how Martin probably said that only as an excuse to get out recording with poodlehead.. But MTV reports that Duran Duran have agreed to collaborate with him. Having the #1 album probably helped convince them] - Click Here for the Full Story

Supernova Settle on Name
antiMusic reports: So Cal rockers Supernova have settled their dispute with the supergroup from the CBS reality contest "Rock Star: Supernova," according to AP. Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Jason Newsted (Metallica), Gilby Clark (Guns N' Roses) and contest winner Lukas Rossi will now be known as Rock Star Supernova while the original band will retain just plain Supernova.

Supernova has released three albums since 1991 and in June when they discovered the TV supergroup planned to use their name they sued CBS, those involved in the show and Mark Burnett Productions for unfair competition and trademark infringement. Did someone forget to do a trademark search? No matter now, since you'll be able to tell the groups apart. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Great White Fire Plea Deal, Owners Get Off Light
antiMusic reports: The owners of the nightclub that used highly flammable foam on their walls for soundproofing which contributed to the tragic death of 100 people during a Great White concert in 2003, have both entered plea deals. "Michael Derderian will serve four years in a minimum-security prison, with eligibility for a work release program, and that Jeffrey Derderian will receive a suspended 10-year sentence," Eitv.comn reports.

About the fire: A Great White concert turned deadly on Feb 20, 2003 at the Station in West Warwick, Rhode Island, when the ceiling of the venue caught fire and the blaze quickly spread throughout the club. 100 people lost their lives including Great White guitarist Ty Longley and more than 160 people were injured after a onstage pyrotechnic display ignited flammable foam on the walls and ceiling of the club.
