Unseen Week: Right Before Your Eyes
DiR reports: To celebrate the release of Unseen's new CD 'Internal Salvation' this week we have asked Mark to pick his top 5 favorite songs from the CD and tell us a bit about each track. We continue today with the song "Right Before Your Eyes". Here is Mark:

This is about how our world is spinning out of control and most don't care or give a f**k. Pollution is changing our planet to the point of near extinction. We may last through it but eventually our children or their children will meet a horrible demise yet we live life like nothing is wrong.- Listen to it here

Avril Stole Another Song?
Hecklerspray reports: Avril Lavigne is slap-bang in the middle of the biggest critical thumping of her life at the moment, thanks to The Rubinoos claiming that one of their songs was stolen by Avril Lavigne for her super annoyo-hit Girlfriend - but that's not the end.

Because now it seems as if Avril Lavigne has been borrowing bits of other songs to use as her own, also. Following the claim by The Rubinoos that the "Hey! Hey! You! You!" hook from Avril's Girlfriend was stolen from the "Hey! Hey! You! You!" hook from their I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend, it's now emerged that Avril Lavigne's I Don't Have To Try seems to be a carbon copy of I'm The Kinda by bearded sex-kraken Peaches. Avril Lavigne has yet to respond to this new ripping-off claim, but the question remains - if Avril Lavigne does keep ripping off other people's songs, then why can't she make any of them sound any good?

An interesting aside. Canada.com reports that Advil named "I'm The Kinda" as one of her five favorite songs in the July issue of InStyle. It will be interesting to hear her say she never heard it before. Then again, this might just be the most punk rock thing she has ever done, silly ties and dirty hair aside. - Check out the evidence and have more fun with Hecklerspray here.

Breaking Benjamin Breaking Up?
antiMusic reports: Are Breaking Benjamin breaking up? That's the rumor spreading like a social disease across the web as the band pulled a no-show in Atlanta this week and then posted an ambiguous message on their website announcing that the remaining dates on their tour were also off.

We were too lazy to contact their label for comment so here is what the band posted on their official website and Myspace page, "Regretfully we must announce that the remaining dates of the tour (Myrtle Beach, Greensboro) have been canceled.

"Please accept our deepest apologies and we will be posting more information soon"- more on this story

Plug Pulled on The Police Unplugged
antiMusic reports: Looks like the plug has been pulled on the Friday the 13th taping for MTV's Unplugged episode staring The Police. The Miami Herald reports that the band has put on the "red light" to plans for the concert that was schedule to take place this week at a secret South Florida location.

The reunited Police were expected to tape the show in an intimate setting for the newly relaunched MTV series but it has been postponed with no reason given and no new date announced, so the postponement might coincide with the release of the new Guns N' Roses album. - grab your lute and click here for mroe

Velvet Revolver Sales Misfire
antiMusic reports: The good news is that Velvet Revolver still has enough fans to fill three 30,000 seat arenas. The bad news is it looks like they lost almost 2/3rds of their fans between the release of their debut album and their sophomore effort 'Libertad'. Still a top 5 showing is nothing to lose your tophat over. The Ex-Guns N' Roses band featuring the ex-Stone Temple Pilot frontman sold 92,000 copies of the new album in the US last week, down from 256,000 for their debut.

Last week's no. 1 from the achy breaky offspring Miley Cyrus was displaced by rapper T.I. who moved 468,000 copies of "T.I. vs. T.I.P". Cyrus' sales dropped over 40% in the second week with sales of 188,000 units. Tweens really love that gansta sh**- Ohh we're half way there. See who else placed in the top 5 here

Blabbermouth reports: Harmonix, the leading developer of music-based games, MTV Games, a division of MTV Networks which is a division of Viacom, and rock icons METALLICA announced today a deal that will showcase the incredible depth of the band's music in the highly anticipated videogame Rock Band.

Hot Hot Heat on Snow Patrol
antiMusic reports: It is a little weird thinking about a band named Snow Patrol touring during the summer but they are joining Hot Hot Heat to make it more seasonably festive while chasing cars on the road. We suspect that HHH might be previewing material from their forthcoming album on the trek ("Happiness LTD" hits stores on 9/11), so if you're a fan it might be one to check out. Plus you may witness another Snow Patrol arrest and that's always fun.

The tour is set to kick off in the rock Mecca of Santa Barbara next Tuesday. That's 7/17 for that's can't add the dates. While the tour is heavy on West Coast dates they will venue east to Colorado and then the Midwest later in the tour before wrapping things up on August 6th at the world renowned Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in the must visit vacation hotspot of Sterling Heights, MI.- grab the dates here

Nostradamus Predicts Judas Maiden Tour
antiMusic reports: Classic metalheads get ready to salivate as Judas Priest's K.K. Downing has told fans that he suspects a joint tour with Iron Maiden may be in the offing some time in the future. Just when? Who knows. Devil horns are flying just at the idea!

Being the good bloke that he is, K.K. takes time out of his busy life (mostly recording the new Priest album " Nostradamus") to answer fan questions via his website in a section brilliantly named "Ask K.K." In the latest installment aside from being hit up about going to some guy's gig, and talking about his idol Jimi Hendrix, K.K. was asked a couple questions by a fan with cruel parents named Igor. Now Igor started off with the usual kissing up and went on to ask a question about the band's videos that we won't even bother to repeat, but he did end with a great question about the possible teaming up of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden for a co-headlining tour. He asked "do you think Priest and Maiden would ever do a tour where each of you would play a full set? Both bands would play the same length of time and you could rotate who goes first and second. You could cap it off with all of you playing a duet from each band's catalogue. I could only imagine you with the Flying V and Janick Gers with his Strat together battling Eddie on stage during The Sentinel and The Evil that Men Do. Any possibility of this ever happening?"

To this K.K. responded: "As for playing with Maiden, I am sure that it is inevitable but when and where maybe only Nostradamus had the answer to that one". [hum, should we read more into that answer? Will it happen on the tour promoting that album? We can start rumors as easily as the next guy]- Read more Q&A with K.K.

Pink Floyd Debut Gets Deluxe Reissue
BW&BK reports: This year is PINK FLOYD's 40th anniversary and to mark this, a special edition of the band's debut album The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, originally released on 5 August 1967, will be available in North America on Tuesday, August 28, 2007.

The packaging, designed by longtime Floyd collaborator Storm Thorgerson, resembles a cloth-covered book with the original Vic Singh photo on the front, and holds 3 CD discs, along with an 8 page reproduction of one of Syd Barrett's notebooks.

Newly remastered by James Guthrie, Discs 1 and 2 will contain the full 'Piper' album, represented in both stereo and mono versions. Busta Gets Lotsa Trials
Hecklerspray reports: If finding the illegallest rapper could be decided with an 8 Mile-style rap battle, then the predicament that Busta Rhymes is currently in would have the crowd so excited that they'd start pretending to fire guns in the air with their fingers and stuff.

That's because Busta Rhymes is about to go to court four different times for apparently being illegal in four different ways - beating up someone who spat on his car, beating up someone who he employed, driving on a suspended licence and driving drunk with unusually tinted windows.

And since a judge has refused to consolidate these charges into one trial, you'd think that Busta Rhymes would be dreading all the court appearances he's due to make - but not so. In fact, Busta Rhymes is thrilled, since four trials means that there'll be four times the amount of adjournments where he can nip out to his car and record enough pop-song guest-raps to cover all four of his probable jail sentences.

Lemmy and Son
antiMusic reports: Motorhead mainman Lemmy Kilmister is part of a new musical collaboration. That's right the metal legend has teamed up with his son for a new recording. No, his son is not named Jesus, it's Paul Inder and the two recorded a track back in April that has made its way onto Inder's Myspace page (and no again, the address isn't myspace.com/sonofgod).

According to a message posted on the site, Inder sings and plays guitar on "You Don't Own Me" while Lemmy lends his bass talents to the track as well as delivering a mean harmonica solo and playing the organ. (no organ jokes).

Inder says that he co-wrote the track with his dad and ended the message with "There'll be more to come." At press time Inder only had 371 Myspace friends, so check out the track and join up as Tom is getting lonely sitting there with Jimi Hendrix. - Check it out right here - credit goes to Blabbermouth.net for the tip

Tweens to Save or Sink Music Biz
Reuters reports: Faced with a protracted sales slump, U.S. record labels are tapping into the tween scene after Walt Disney Co became the unlikely hitmaker of the year with chart toppers like "Hannah Montana" and "High School Musical."

After mostly ignoring tweens, kids between the ages of 6 and 12, music labels from Sony BMG Music to Warner Music Group and EMI Group Plc are signing or distributing tween acts. Many are trying to leverage these acts with TV deals to match Disney's success, people in the industry said.

[in other words, more talented musicians will not get their shot at success. Maybe if the industry put out more music people would want to buy they could sell it. see the following link for more on this disturbing story] - Boybands return
