Madden Woman Beater?
TMZ reports: TMZ has learned that the Beverly Hills Police Department is investigating rocker Joel Madden, after a female photographer filed a "crime report" claiming he attacked her during a violent confrontation Sunday night.

According to police sources, the woman claimed Madden struck her on the left breast "with the heel of his hand" as the rocker tried to escort his girlfriend, Nicole Richie, out of the back door of Mr. Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills. The photographer told TMZ that she has a welt to prove it, and had to see a doctor for treatment.

Madden can be seen throwing a forceful, open-handed stiff-arm into the chest of another paparazzo, moments after the alleged incident. Police reps also tell TMZ that they take every claim seriously, and a crime report was taken on this incident.[see full story for a video]- Click Here for the Full Story

Yoko Blocks Lennon Film
AP reports: The world premiere of "Three Days in the Life," a documentary about John Lennon, was canceled after lawyers for the slain Beatle's widow, Yoko Ono, warned that she had not authorized any public viewing of the film.

Ray Thomas, the documentary's executive producer, culled raw footage that was shot inside Lennon's apartment down to a two-hour film covering a pivotal time in Lennon's career. The footage was shot by Ono's former husband, Tony Cox, over a three-day period in February 1970, two months before the breakup of the Beatles. Thomas and his partner, John Fallon, were unable to get an artist release from Ono, whose lawyers contend has a copyright interest in the film. Bopper Conspiracy Debunked
AP reports: J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson suffered massive fractures and likely died immediately in the 1959 plane crash that also killed early rock 'n' rollers Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens, a forensic anthropologist said Tuesday after exhuming the body.

The performer's son, Jay Richardson, hired Dr. Bill Bass, a well-known forensic anthropologist at the University of Tennessee, to look at the remains in Beaumont, Texas.

There have been rumors a gun might have been fired on board the plane and that the Big Bopper might have survived the crash and died trying to get help.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Radio will still suck
Idolator.com reports: Yesterday's settlement between four major radio-broadcasting groups and the Federal government, in which radio stations will be required to pay out fines and give chunks of time over to indie labels, is being hailed as an historic moment by the more optimistic members of the media. But Jerry Del Colliano, a USC professor, isn't so sure:

These four major "angels" will give up a collective 8,400 half-hour segments of free airtime for indie record labels and local artists according to the AP report. I'll bet these half-hours will be in morning drive at about 7:20 am, right? I was talking to an old PD friend of mine and we were kidding about how early Sunday morning these half hours of freshness will run. Hell, 8,400 half hours is only a pimple on the program director's butt -- an insignificant amount of time.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Whining Chiefs
Gigwise reports: Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson has hit back at journalists who have slammed the band's new album calling them "wrong" and "liars."

The band's second effort has received a damning response from many quarters, with Gigwise labeling it "the sound of a band hitting a creative brick wall."

But Wilson is defiant in the face of adversity, saying that the band believe they have made "a great record."

He told 6music: "I don't want to sound big-headed, but anyone who says they don't like the new album is just lying. It's weird, we know it's good." [denial = don't even notice I am lying.. see full story for more blathering from said asshat] - Click Here for the Full Story
