Rock Star INXtheft?
TMZ reports: Mark Burnett, the man behind the popular reality show "Rock Star," is being sued INXS of $2 million, by a woman who claims he was part of an alleged conspiracy to steal her idea for the reality show.

In the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, a writer/producer named Sharlene Sullivan claims that in 2002, she registered a show synopsis called "Rock Star" with the Writers Guild of America, in which "lead vocalists for rock bands would compete and would be judged by well known musicians/rock stars."

In the lawsuit, Sullivan claims she shared the idea with several industry people connected with both Mark Burnett and the rock band INXS. After receiving initial interest from those parties, Sullivan claims she was told to "abandon the project" and "write an unrelated treatment regarding transvestites." Soon after, the suit claims, Mark Burnett claimed he created a reality show called "RockStar: INXS." Sullivan says Burnett knew that it had already been created.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Van Halens Won't Rock The Hall
Blabbermouth reports: Joel Selvin of the San Francisco Chronicle recently conducted an interview with Sammy Hagar. On former VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony:

"He's my good buddy. It's not him and us against the others. He got thrown out of the band, too. I don't think Ed and Al are going [to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction]. The word I got from our management is that now they said they're not going. Roth'll be there. S -- , he's there right now. He's already got a room. I'm fine with him. I'm fine with Ed and Al. I don't talk to Eddie. I'm not mad at Eddie. I still love the guy. He's just hard to get along with.

"When we were all going, when they were gonna do their tour with Roth that just blew out I could have told you that; I bet money that would never happen. I would love to see it. They owe it to the fans. They should do it.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Wildhearts Nix US Tour
BW&BK reports: British rockers THE WILDHEARTS have been forced to cancel their upcoming US tour. A statement from their management reads as follows:

"We have been informed this morning by the American Embassy, and our American Representative who was acting on behalf of the Wildhearts Visa application in the US, that The Wildhearts Visas will not be ready in time for the tour. Despite being told differently, it appears that errors were made by our nominated American representative, which caused unnecessary delays and problems with the American Embassy. The Wildhearts and their management were never informed of this and we were assured that they would arrive in time for their flight to New York tomorrow (Thursday 8th March). The Wildhearts are distraught at being forced to cancel these shows, but have been given no alternative as flying with out Visas would seriously jeopardize all future plans in the USA for the band.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Hawthorne Heights Partial Victory over Victory
punkbands reports: A federal judge in Chicago handed Hawthorne Heights a partial victory over Victory Records. Judge James Moran held that Victory does not hold exclusive rights for the band's recording services. Simply put, it means the band can record for any label.

In yesterday's ruling, the court held that the contract does not give Victory the right to the band's exclusive recording services. "The agreement contains no exclusivity provision, nor does any of its language appear to prevent [the band] from recording elsewhere during the life of the agreement," the judge wrote.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Classic Crime Crash Van
punkbands reports: The Classic Crime was involved in a van accident last night in Wisconsin. The band writes: Ok so this JUST happened...

Last night we were driving through Wisconsin. The snow was about 3 feet high on the sides of the road and It was about 5 degrees F. When we were about 3 miles before Wis Dells on I-90 going East our Van hit a patch of black ice (or maybe a banana peel we are not really sure) and started spinning. We ended up facing on-coming traffic and sliding 100 feet down the interstate.

We finally came to rest in a 5ft deep snow bank. (rumor has it there was a donkey kong sighting earlier in Wis Dells on I-90). [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Hammerfall Make it Official
SMN reports: Joacim, Stefan, Oscar and Anders of HAMMERFALL have announced the departure of bassist Magnus Rosén. A statement from the band is below:

"Bass player Magnus Rosén has elected to step down from HAMMERFALL to be able to focus on his own projects. While it is surprising, it's not a total shock to us since he has seemed to be unhappy with the situation in the band and on tour for quite a while. We wish him all the best with his future endeavors and turn our attention to the future, immediate and distant."

"This will change nothing for us as far as booked gigs and other planned activities are concerned. Rest assured, HAMMERFALL will continue blazing its trail just like before. The process of selecting the right replacement both musically and personally is already set in motion, and we will announce it as soon as a decision is made."
