Bullet For My Bullies
HER reports: Getting bullied in school - it's every young student's worst nightmare, and the basis of "Waking the Demon," the next promo video and U.S. single from Bullet For My Valentine's sizzling sophomore album, "Scream Aim Fire" (Jive/Zomba). "Waking the Demon" is probably the hardest song on Bullet's album and has its roots in the band members' own experiences of getting beat up at school because they had long hair or because they were in a band.

According to Bullet For My Valentine's vocalist/lyricist Matt Tuck, "'Waking the Demon' is about finding someone's inner demon. Most of us in the band got pushed around in school so the song is about getting tormented, day in and day out for years, and then one day - 'snap!' - like that!"

The video for "Walking the Demon" was written and directed by Max Nichols (son of Academy Award-winning director Mike) and will breathe a visual life into Bullet's lyrics: "There's just no limits to the boundaries you push / I've warned you but still you just f**k with my mind / There's no escape from this rage / That I feel / Nothing is real / Breathe for me, don't wake me from this slumber / Stay with me possession taking over." - more on this story

Thin Lizzy's Darren Wharton Plots Daring New Release
PR reports: Wales-based band Dare, headed up by former Thin Lizzy member Darren Wharton, is set to release two albums, "Belief" and "Beneath The Shining Water," on Rock Ridge Music on May 20th. Says Wharton: "For most bands in the UK and Europe, having an album released in America is the ultimate dream. For this reason, I feel extremely honored and proud that Dare's last two albums, 'Belief ' and 'Beneath the Shining Water,' are being released in the US on Rock Ridge Music.

It was when Wharton decided to move away from his hometown of Manchester to the beautiful mountains of North Wales that Dare's current lineup and musical vibe took shape. Settling in the majestic Snowdonia National Park, Wharton quickly set about building his own recording studio. Dare's sound was informed and inspired by the haunting natural beauty of these surroundings -- a new, atmospheric, Celtic feel started to emerge, which can be found among the tracks on both records. "Belief" featured the hit first single "White Horses," which was play listed by UK legendary DJ, Sir Terry Wogan, on the UK's largest national radio station, BBC Radio 2. "Beneath the Shining Water" is a modern classic -- original, yet instantly addictive. Thought-provoking and passionate, while still retaining a dark rock edge, Wharton pushed back the musical boundaries to reveal his uniquely-inspiring voice and music. - more on this story

Change Your Face Every 5,000 Miles
TMZ reports: Here is a little more on the scammer that has been injecting Hollywood with auto lubricant as a alternative to Botox. This mess is just too funny to pass up, so here is a bit more for those that wonder why some of your favorite Hollywood stars are looking so strange these days... they got a lube job!

TMZ reports: The phony doc who injected Priscilla Presley with industrial-grade silicone used to lubricate auto parts had a scam that proved irresistible to Hollywood's elite. Someone who got injected by Daniel Serrano spoke with TMZ about getting lured in. Serrano, who was a doctor in Argentina but unlicensed in the U.S., told patients the serum, which he claimed would remove wrinkles, was much better than Botox -- an all-natural drug he said was used by all the top models in Paris. Serrano told his victims they could not get the drug in the U.S. The patient we spoke with said that made all the women go crazy, thinking they were getting something special, and they were -- a lube job.

The injections were "extremely painful." Serrano said there would be no swelling. The patient we spoke with says she blew up like a balloon, and when the swelling finally went down, the drug didn't eliminate lines. [duhh] - more on this story

.... Queen Rock Montreal DVD
The concert is from Nov 1981 and it is just an amazing show. As good as this DVD is however, it still fails to capture the magic from the perspective of those who were there. I saw the show the next night and it was one of the best shows that I've ever witnessed. (4.5 stars) - Read the full Queen Rock Montreal DVD review

.... The Two Man Gentlemen Band - Heavy Petting
What would you call a band consisting of a banjo, a string base, a couple of kazoos, and two dapperly dressed chaps churning out a sound from a time mostly forgotten? Why that would have to be Long Island City's own duo The Two Man Gentlemen Band. (3.5 stars) - Read the full The Two Man Gentlemen Band - Heavy Petting review
