7 Inch Yacht
PR reports: Yacht is putting out their latest album See Mystery Lights (DFA Records) on July 28th, but as an added treat the duo is releasing a limited-edition 7" vinyl single called DON'T PUT OUT (Marriage Records) on June 16th. YACHT is also pleased to announce a new ten-date tour of the United Kingdom with Patrick Wolf, kicking off May 15th.

Don't Put Out is a small homage to the film Ladies And Gentlemen the Fabulous Stains, a 1981 film by Lou Adler about a fictional all-girl punk band called The Stains. The message of the film, and YACHT's single: "Don't be an old man in a young girls' world."

The two tracks on the single, "Waste Of Time" and "Professionals" (which features Suzi Corpso) are songs originally performed by The Stains. On DON'T PUT OUT, "Waste Of Time" is re-imagined as an apathetic bubblegum disco track, and "Professionals," sung by Suzi Corpso with three-chord guitar backing by Yacht's Claire L. Evans, as the sludgy protest song it was perhaps always meant to be. - more on this story

New OK Go and Liz Phair Songs and More for City Stories
PR reports: This summer Banana Republic celebrates the inspiration of urban life with the release of City Sounds, a new digital album featuring never-before-heard tracks from the nine music artists appearing in the City Stories national ad campaign, including exclusive first tracks from OK Go and Liz Phair's highly-anticipated new albums, as well as songs by Sara Bareilles, Ayo, Dashboard Confessional's Chris Carrabba, Tommy Torres and more.

The limited edition digital album, available as a gift-with-purchase only in Banana Republic stores starting May 13, reflects the diversity of these artists, ranging from acoustic soul to introspective pop, modern jazz to indie rock.

Paris-based R&B songstress Ayo sings of her travels through European metropolises, while Sara Bareilles and Dashboard Confessional search for love amid the bars and streets of their adopted cities. Both acclaimed violinist David Garrett and Grammy-winning saxophonist David Snchez find solace at dawn in the canyons of Manhattan, and Latin pop star Tommy Torres and emerging jazz bassist/vocalist Esperanza Spalding celebrate their beloved hometowns (San Juan and Portland, respectively) across the continent from each other. Among the tantalizing selections are brand new songs from Liz Phair and OK Go's highly anticipated new albums due later in 2009, only available to customers who make a purchase in Banana Republic stores during the campaign.

Little Foot Long Foot Set Release and Tour Dates
PR reports: Equal parts bluesy rock 'n roll and cleverly conscious lyricism, Little Foot Long Foot's May 26th release of Harsh Words is a comprehensive testament to moral tribulation.

An album insert recounts the tale of a damsel torn between two loves, while song titles including 'King Hipster,' 'Marriage Ain't A Promise,' and 'Isolation Blues' provide both visual and emotional depictions of adversity at it's finest.

Following the release of their EP Just About Broke Joan Smith (vocals, guitar, organ) and Isaac Klein (drums) gained success on college radio, multiple best of 2008 lists, all while building their quickly growing fan-base. - more on this story
