Ozzy Osbourne is reportedly in stable condition following a serious accident on an ATV. Osbourne is currently in intensive care and using a respirator. He underwent emergency surgery following the accident where he suffered from a fractured neck vertebra, eight fractured ribs and a broken collarbone.

A tearful daughter Kelly gave reporters a progress report outside the hospital where her father is being treated.

I want to say that hes stable. He woke up today he couldnt talk because of the tube in his mouth, but he was able to mouth words.

He told us that he loved us.

Kelly found a little humor in her visit with Ozzy. He has been complaining about the nurses, so we know hes all right.

He gave me the thumbs-up and stuck his tongue out at me.

That was it really, he cant really speak because of the tube.

Dr Dick Jack, the medical director of the hospital also spoke with reporters giving a cautious yet optimistic prognosis, He knows where he is, hes comfortable and hes stable. But as I said yesterday, his progress will be slow and we dont expect any major changes until Friday.

In related news, The New York Post is reporting that Sharon Osbourne is taking a leave of absence from her syndicated talk show to be by her husbands side while he recovers.

The producers of the show plan to have guest hosts take over for Sharon. "We're going to have some guest hosts and we'll keep the show in production," said a spokeswoman for Telepictures, which produces "The Sharon Osbourne Show".

Thursdays episode will be hosted by Osbournes son Jack and he is expected to give a progress report on his fathers condition.
"Jack will address his dad's situation at the top of the show," said the Telepictures spokeswoman.
