On the heels of his launch of a new solo career in post-hardcore rock, Craig Owens stars in a brand-new ad for peta2the world's largest youth animal rights organizationsporting the group's colorful "Animal Testing Breaks Hearts" T-shirt by Glamour Kills. The ad is part of peta2's campaign to end cruel product tests on mice, rats, rabbits, and other animals.

"There are certain things that a human being should just know [are] wrong," says Owens. "If it is something that you care about, then stand up and do something about it."

Rabbits, guinea pigs, and other animals used to test cosmetics and household products are blinded, burned, poisoned, and beheaded. These painful and deadly tests are not required by law. Hundreds of companies have listened to consumers and pledged not to test their products on animals.

Owens is currently taking more time for solo projects such as Cinematic Sunrise and Isles & Glaciers. His first solo EP, Με την αγάπη, which is Greek for "with love," was released in September.

Owens is the latest celebrity to join peta2 in speaking up for animals. Visitors to peta2.com will find interviews with all their favorite bands and celebritiesfrom Blink-182's Tom DeLonge, Cobra Starship's Gabe Saporta, Gym Class Heroes' Travis McCoy, and hellogoodbye to Audrina Patridge, Khloe Kardashian, Eva Mendes, and Pink. They can also enter contests to win great prizes, including free iPods and concert tickets. For more information and to view the ad, please visit peta2.com
