A Static Lullaby Goes Toxic Britney Cover

(PR) A Static Lullaby premiere their new music video for their cover of "Toxic" by Britney Spears today on MTV2. The video will play every hour as a part of Unleashed and will begin regular rotation on Tuesday. This cover will also be featured on the upcoming Punk Goes Pop 2 compilation album set to hit stores on March 10.

The video, directed by Robby Starbuck, is based upon the changes that Britney has seen over the years. "Collectively the band and I really dug deep to match the characteristics of what 'Britney' has become. She has really had a tumultuous journey and we wanted to take fun pieces of that persona and bring it to life around the band and in their own performance," says Starbuck. The video features parodies of the different "Britney's" from her various music videos from "Baby One More Time" through "Womanizer."

"Robby is very creative and put together a great video," says vocalist, Joe Brown. The main focus for the band while making this video was to have fun with it. "While doing such a cover it was important for us to not take things so seriously. It was fun, trashy, swanky and mostly light-hearted. We are grateful to have been a part of all of it."

The video follows a busy fall for the band. After the release of their fourth studio album, Rattlesnake!, in September, the band hit the road on nationwide tours with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster and as direct support for Alesana.
