Born in Yorkshire, England, John Barry Prendergast first made his name as bandleader of the John Barry Seven, according to BBC News. As well as arranging the famous James Bond theme, he composed scores for 11 movies in the series including Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice and A View to a Kill.
