(Radio.com) Only a day after his friend, fellow rapper Chinx, was killed in New York City, Meek Mill released a song in his honor. The track "Miss My Dawgs" featuring Travis $cott & Strap has Mill expressing the sadness he felt after getting the call that Chinx, real name Lionel 'Chinx" Pickens had been shot in his home city.

The low-key track, which also honors Mills protege the 18-year-old rapper Lil Snupe, who was shot and killed in 2013, hinges on the lines: "I miss my dawgs" saying that he "wished he was dead" when they killed his young friends.

"Fly so high, so long, goodbye," closes out the sad track. The 31-year-old Queens, NY rapper Lionel 'Chinx" Pickens, a member of French Montana's Coke Boys, who, according to CBS New York, was shot eight or more times earlier the same day while sitting in the passenger's seat of his car.

Meek Mill commented on the shooting death of his friend, beginning his message with, "This is exactly why I don't play in the streetsMy real day 1s get out that hood no matter what it cost or the circumstance! It's nothing that add up to losing ya life at a young age!!! N--s killing n--s that's Tryna win! I got love for the people in the hood but I don't f-k wit the hood nomore!"
