The UKs most popular music website, NME.com, the sister to the leading British music magazine, dropped this little story today (May 27th).
The Queen and other members of the British Royal Family will join Paul McCartney onstage for a rendition of the Beatles classic, All You Need Is Love as the finale to the Party At The Palace concert on June 3rd. The palace of course is Buckingham Palace, home of Monarch.
Ozzy Osbourne, Atomic Kitten, S Club and Eric Clapton will also be appearing at the concert; an event to celebrate the Queens 50th year on the British throne.
Also in the NME report, it appears that McCartney also plans to play a tribute to his former Beatle bandmate George Harrison with a performance of Here Comes the Sun with Eric Clapton. (Clapton was a close friend to Harrison and even captured the heart of Harrisons wife Patty Boyd. Some say it was Claptons love epic Layla, which he wrote for Patty, that helped him win her heart. )
The NME report quoted another British news source as speculating that McCartney will be joined on stage by not only the Queen for the All We Need Is Love finale but other stars on the concert bill as well as The Duke of Edinburgh, Princes William and Harry and Prince Charles.
Fans will be able to watch the concert courtesy of the BBC, who plan to broadcast the event worldwide. (Outside the UK check the schedule for the BBCs international cable channels)
Looks like Sir Paul is likely to steal the show, thats if Ozzy doesnt upstage him with some of the crazy antics he is famous for.
