Hot Chip Announce One Life Stand
Hot Chip are back with the stunning fourth studio album One Life Stand to be released on February 9, 2010 on Astralwerks.

One Life Stand is a full-blooded leap into the unknown, an album that is awash with Hot Chip's trademark creative bravery and a searing emotional intensity from first track to last.

Indeed, One Life Stand is by far Hot Chip's most complete body of work to date, an album that is more cohesive and more soulful than 2007's ambidextrous Made In The Dark and more ambitious than 2005's Mercury nominated and GRAMMY award winning The Warning. One Life Stand is an album that establishes Hot Chip as one of the most relevant and creative bands of our era. - more on this story

Enya Gets Comp'd
Enya will release The Very Best Of on Warner Bros. Records on December 1st in the U.S. The album will be released internationally, minus the bonus track "Oiche Chiuin (Chorale)," on November 23rd.

Capturing Enya's beguiling mix of classical choral sounds, Celtic atmosphere, and pop sensibility, The Very Best Of brings together, for the first time, all the highlights of her entire 22-year solo career, from "Boadicea" (off her 1987 self-titled debut) to her international breakthrough hit "Orinoco Flow" (from 1988's Watermark) to the sad serenity of "Only Time," which was adopted as a comforting anthem of hope after 9/11. Along the way, the album visits a remarkable collection of enduring favorites, such as "Anywhere Is," "Caribbean Blue," "Book of Days" and "Amarantine." It also provides something new in the shape of a stripped-down, previously unreleased version of "Aniron" which was featured in Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Rings.

The Very Best Of Enya will also be available in a special CD/DVD edition beginning December 1st. This package is the most comprehensive Enya DVD to date, collecting all thirteen of her music videos and making them available commercially for the first time ever in the U.S. In addition, the DVD features an interview, behind-the-scenes footage, and two "making of" mini-documentaries about the creation of the "Caribbean Blue" and "Only Time" videos.

Joe Firstman Sets Album Release
Joe Firstman's new album "El Porto" will be in stores January 26, 2010. Here is a little background: Joe Firstman bought an $18 cross-country Greyhound ticket from his home in North Carolina to Los Angeles, arriving with a beat-up guitar and head full of songs. He quickly found the big stage. It all happened quickly: first came the big Hollywood gigs, then the industry buzz, then the big deal with Atlantic Records and national tours with big rock stars like Sheryl Crow, Jewel, and Willie Nelson. There was ego and excess and beautiful ladies and music, music, music. Firstman wrote it all down and sang his songs like his life depended on it.

"In the songs of Joe Firstman, sensitive young men prowl the hills of Los Angeles, searching for fame and beauty, only to find self-destructive behavior and egos gone wild..." wrote Jim Farber in the New York Daily News. "While Hollywood's peaks and pitfalls have been prominently charted by songwriters from Don Henley, Stevie Nicks and Jackson Browne to Warren Zevon, Firstman aims to reinvent the milieu for his own generation."

When the world stopped spinning, he'd landed a regular gig as the bandleader on the "Last Call with Carson Daly" show. For four years, this was his university - playing and writing songs in whatever style the show's musical guests played and learning how to engage a studio audience, day in and day out. That gig ended in early 2009.
